GetRealTacoma.com is Tacoma’s original real estate blog. The site was started by longtime Tacoma real estate agent Marguerite Martin back in April of 2008 under the guidance of the folks at Suite133, Tacoma’s first co-working space. This site owes a lot to the early advice and guidance of Tacomans Erik Hanberg, Derek Young, Mary Holste, Seamus Holman, and Whitney Stevens (nee Rhodes).
Get Real Tacoma was started to be a source for real talk about Tacoma real estate. Our point of view tends to be buyer centric. At the time the blog was started Tacoma’s housing values were falling and many of the early posts are about foreclosures and more and more bad news for sellers.
Nowadays things are very different. Tacoma is experiencing one of the most extreme seller’s markets in its history. There is less than one month of inventory on the market, and the few homes for sale are bid on by multiple buyers.
In addition to GetRealTacoma.com Marguerite has created a Tacoma neighborhood guide, a community focussed website MovetoTacoma.com. In addition to her Tacoma neighborhood guide at MoveToTacoma.com, Marguerite also has a Tacoma podcast on iTunes and helped found Channel253- a podcast network focusing on different aspects of living in Tacoma and Pierce County.
