After 3 months of walkabout visiting friends and family across Europe, I’m back home in Tacoma, and back to work selling houses.
While I was traveling, I asked my hosts in different countries lots of questions about how buying homes worked. Questions about how much you had to put down, (30% in most other countries!) if there were tax advantages (not usually…), how the real estate agent gets paid (No buyers agent)… a lot of the time I felt like I did back in 2004 when my Realtor helped me buy my first house.
What I learned was that in spite of the difficulties of our current market, buying your first home is still easier in the USA than in any other country I heard about. It made me feel really lucky.
So anyways, not to ramble, but I’m so happy to be back in T-Town.
