Sky Terrace is one of the most unique condo buildings in Tacoma. Originally built in 1962 as apartments, they were remodeled and converted to condos in 2004. The architecture of this 8 story reinforced concrete structure is pure 60’s awesomeness. When I first moved downtown I called this “The Star Trek Building.”
What many people don’t know is that Sky Terrace boasts the ONLY roof top pool in all of Tacoma. Basically what that means is that if you live at Sky Terrace, come summertime you are automatically one of the most popular people in Tacoma. Automatically. The rooftop deck has one of the best views in town. You can see Mount Rainier, Thea Foss Waterway, Port of Tacoma, and really the entire Puget Sound. In addition to the pool, Sky Terrace has a large common room residents use for gatherings. The common room is nicely furnished and has a large kitchen and bathroom attached. There is also a fitness center with gym equipment. Maintenance of these areas is covered by the HOA dues.
